Shoot The Boots
How To Play
Setup
This game is designed for 2-4 players, split into two teams.
Set up two goals approximately 30 to 50 feet apart. Secure the goals by staking them into the ground or adding weight to keep them stable.
Choose your teams and select a boot color for each. One member from each team should position themselves near the opposing goal.
Each team should have two boots of the same color. Teams take turns kicking their boots towards the goals.
Gameplay
The aim of the game is to be the first player or team to reach or exceed 21 points.
Teams alternate turns, kicking boots back and forth towards the goals.
Players must kick from behind the goal they are standing near, ensuring their feet remain behind the front line of the goal during the kick. The game starts with players alternating kicks between the goals.
The team that scores in the previous round kicks first in the next. If no one scores, the team that kicked first in the last round retains the first kick in the next round.
After a boot scores, remove it from the net to keep the goal clear for subsequent shots. However, leave any boots lying on the ground until the end of the round. If a boot in play dislodges another boot from "On the Green," the three points for that position are forfeited, a situation known as a "Stinker."
Scoring
Strike the Goal (1 Point): A boot that hits the goal directly from the air earns one point. The goal includes the bottom ring, four posts, top ring, and net. If a boot bounces out of the net after landing, it still counts as a strike.
On the Green (3 Points): A boot that lands on or within the bottom ring of the goal earns three points. The boot does not need to touch the ground inside the ring, as long as any part of it breaks the vertical plane of the ring. Note that strike points do not apply when awarded three points.
Basket (6 Points): If a boot lands and remains in the net or basket, it earns six points. Celebrate with the phrase "Shoot the Boots!"
Cancellation Scoring: Similar to cornhole, points from one player/team can cancel out the opponent's points in the same round. Only the player/team with the remaining points after cancellation scores in that round.
