How To Play
Setup
Transform the chairs into game mode.
Set the chairs up 40’ apart.
Games can be played 1 v 1 with each player on opposite ends or 2 v 2 in which player’s teammates are on opposite ends.
Gameplay
Teams alternate each round, attempting to hit any part of the chair or goalposts on the fly or throw the ball in the basket.
Opponents attempt to catch any rebounds off the chair.
Scoring
Hitting the chair on the fly scores 3 points
A ball thrown in the basket is a touchdown and scores six points.
After a touchdown, the scoring team gets an extra point attempt by kicking the ball through the uprights.
If the ball bounces into the basket on a throw, the offense gets two points.
If, on an extra point, the ball lands in the basket, it’s an instant win.
If the defending team catches a rebound, they receive three points. The ball must make contact with the chair or goal posts first, and there is no blocking the chair.
Teams/players switch sides after each time the leading team scores 12 points.
Games are played to 54, and teams must win by 2 points. There is no bust rule in effect. The losing team gets “last licks,” which is one more throw to try to catch up or win the game.
Pro Rules
Teammates play on the same side.
Rebounds result in an interception, which allows the players to either take a knee for three points or return it toward the opposite chair. Wherever they are touched down with two hands, they get one throw to score a touchdown.
If the interception is returned, no points are scored for the rebound.
Muffed extra points may be caught with one hand by the opposing team. In that case, you can score 1 point and get your turn, or you may return the kick and get a touchdown throw from wherever touched with two hands. A failed touchdown attempt results in a loss of your turn.
A Hail Mary may be attempted, which is one through a pace back from the chair for each point you are behind. A touchdown thrown from that spot results in a win; a miss is a loss.
Laterals may be used during an interception return and muffed extra points
Blocking is allowed on both interception returns and muffed extra points.
